How easy is to find yourself in Google?

Well, let’s just say that Google is the online equivalent of 1984’s Big Brother. It knows and sees all of your online activity, and it surely doesn’t discriminate between the handpicked content, and that which would embarrass the pants off of you.

You should have no issues finding info about yourself through Google, but be sure to check both the first page and following pages – and to further weed out any other folks who share your name, type in the city in which you live as well.

For those of you who have been married or changed your name for some reason, you’ll also want to consider checking out what exists out there under your previous identity. This may not seem as important, but if you’re being screened, most of the time employers will have this information, as well as that guy or girl in high school who you hope to hook up with one day and you don’t want them finding any outdated, embarrassing online content under your old persona.
